the lesson of three - 1

5*****Stars

Book:  Hath No Fury
Series: The Lesson of Three - Book 1
Author:  Hal Rappaport
Publisher:  Amazon Digital Services
Genre:  Paranormal/Magic
Rating:  Adult

The lesson of three, do a good deed and you will get back good plus three, do something bad, and the same applies with opposite consequences.  This is a novel about Magick, and no, I did not misspell it.  The magic I am familiar with is where a rabbit appears out of a hat or a woman is sawed in half. The Magick in this book is different therefore, the different spelling.  I was asked to review this book and I am very happy I was because it would not have occurred to me to read it.
This story revolves around three main characters, Mark, Amy and Sam.  Mark Kaplan never knew his parents and was raised and home schooled by his grandmother.  His grandmother was also a Wiccan who practiced white magic.  She taught Mark the power of Magick and included him in most of their rituals.  Mark's closest friend in the world was Amy.  They met when they were six years old and were never far from one another.
As Mark and Amy grew older, the friendship turned into something else.  They had a bond with each other and Mark taught her some of his Magick.  It turns out that Amy has strong powers and it is those powers that bring Samael into the picture.  Sam and a demon share the same body. The demon wants Amy's power, and Sam wants her body, but Mark is an obstacle they have to get rid of.
When Mark is thirteen years old, his grandmother is murdered.  This event changes his and Amy's life in ways that could never have been anticipated.   Mark is sent into foster care, where the husband doesn't hesitate to abuse him. He is taken to another state out of the reach of those that love him, leaving him on his own.  Amy's parents move and get an unlisted phone number making it impossible for Mark to call her.  With Amy's grief over Mark disappearing, Sam comes to her rescue.  He is a shoulder for her to cry on, and someone she can talk to.  Was Mark's disappearance part of Sam's plan to get Amy?  Was everything that happened part of Magick? Can Amy and Mark find each other after so many years?  As young adults will they even care the way they once did?
This was a very interesting book about Magick, Satanism and even voodoo.  It has love, betrayal, murder and good versus evil.  As I stated previously this was not a book I would ordinarily have chosen to read but I loved it and I recommend it to anyone whether into Magick or not.  This is book one and I look forward to reading more.

Dear Vampire Agememnon - Coming soon!!

It’s not often one is approached by a “real” 300 year old vampire. With a convincing back story and an unflappable demeanor, this person claiming to be Agememnon, a real vampire, answered questions in a “Dear Abby” like manor for over a year on my web site. Now the wisdom of a “real vampire” is presented in this collection of his responses to often amazing and intriguing questions. His back story is sad and convincing.

Is Agememnon a real vampire?

Decide for yourself.

Moments of Rhythm and Magick - The Lesson of Three Book 2 Expected Summer 2013!!

This sequel to "Hath No Fury" will be available for readers the summer of 2013. Learn about what happens to Mark and Amy. Learn about the missing pages in Mark's past and how Mark's fascination with drums skyrocket him to fame, fortune...and evil.

Excerpt: He was so excited at hearing his old friend, he thought of interrupting Amy to share it with her. Then he thought about how hard it was for Amy to achieve the level of concentration he did with little effort and felt bad for interrupting her once she had gotten into her “zone.”

“I err,” Eddie started, “heard you had some troubling news.”

Mark now stopped to listen. Part of his heart would always be with Danny, who was, for a while, his best friend.

“Y-es,” Danny began slowly, taking a pause. “Frank Fury, our drummer, had to go into rehab.”

He and Danny had played together, albeit briefly, in a Rush cover band, they called “The Bones.” Thoughts of it filled his head of drumming along with Danny’s baseline and his heart skipped a beat.

“What are your plans?” Eddie said. “Are you going to use a session drummer until he recovers?”

Mark looked down to see his hands tapping to the rhythm of the Rush song, “Subdivisions,” unconsciously.

“I’ve got to tell you Eddie,” Danny began. “We’re using a session drummer right now for recording but no one has what we’re looking for as far as natural ability. We’ve been auditioning drummers, but the drummer I really wish I had, I can’t find.”

Mark stopped drumming his hands now, and he sat up completely alert. The thought of his school work was gone completely now. He hated Beowulf anyway.

“I thought you’d be looking for another Neil Peart or maybe even a Scott Rockenfield for you’re kind of music.” Eddie mused.

“I don’t think I’m going to get either of those guys in the near future.” Danny laughed.

Mark laughed too. He used to imagine himself rocking behind Getty Lee in Rush when he played.

“It’s going to sound silly, “Danny began. “When I was in high school, I played with this guy who was a real natural. He was young and inexperienced, but he had a sort of magic to his rhythm.”

Mark Blinked. He found he couldn’t move any of his muscles. He was completely paralyzed.

“Are you serious?” Eddie said. “You have the whole professional world of rockin’ drummers who would love to hitch on to your rising star and you’re looking for some high school kid?”

“Amy!” Mark jerkily made his way over to her.

“Well, I’m sure he’s gotten better over the years.” Danny said.

“Damned right I have.” Mark said back to the radio.

“And it was more his natural ability and passion for rhythm than his experience. It was almost magical.”

Amy finally noticed Mark talking and took off her headphones.

“What’s up?” She asked.

Mark could only point to the radio.

Amy’s eyebrows came together as she walked closer to the radio to listen.

“So why haven’t you gotten this guy?” Eddie asked.

“What’s going on?” Amy demanded.

Mark held up a hand to silence her.

A hand went to one of Amy’s hips as she let out an impatient sigh.

She figured there was some incredible band reunion Mark probably wanted desperately to go to. She was a little pissed off that Mark had interrupted her final project for this, but she would always have an extra measure of patience for this man.

“Well Eddie, I can’t find him.” Danny said. “We grew up together and then we both moved.”

“Well, why don’t you give him a shout out?” Eddie said. “If he still rocks, I’m sure he listens to this show.”

“You’re damned right he does.” Mark shouted back at the radio.

Amy was now looking back and forth between the radio and Mark, the look of forced indulgence on her face was changing to one of surprised understanding.

“Mark?” Danny’s clear voice spoke directly to him, as if they were in the same room.

Amy’s jaw hung open.

Mark broke into a toothy grin.

“If you can hear me bro, I could sure use your sticks. Come raise some mean energy and holy hell with me again!”

Hath No Fury received a five star rating by the Paranormal Romance Guild.!!

My book, "Hath No Fury- The Lesson of three Book One" just received a five star rating by the Paranormal Romance Guild.

http://www.paranormalromanceguild.com/reviewshalrappaport.htm

This is a fiction story with factually reported paranormal events. It's written by an established, credible, science and technology writer for well-known publications.

The story has in interesting world to immerse yourself into without losing an edge in reality. What sets it apart is the books paranormal elements. It is not a typical, "drippy" vampire romance. Hath no Fury is about REAL magic. While the storyline is a fictional, any paranormal elements are actually based on real events personally observed in research or relayed by very credible witnesses.

Set in the 1970's, Mark and Amy, the central characters of the story, live a life of discovery and wonder amidst a secret world of magic practitioners. As they mature, they discover their own magic and a new facet to their friendship. Just as they turn over a new page in their relationship, their worlds are suddenly rocketed out of control by a destiny and a source of evil that has been waiting patiently for a generation.
